Hey there, could any of you fabulous Icelandic speakers translate the following for me?:  "You forgot to say 'hi' first"  First as in, before the other things 'you' said, and 'hi' as in, if i'm not mistaken, sael.

thanks, xoxo and a big cup of skyr

tragnon: Homesick-sort of

Cross posted to a few places…sorry if you see doubles

"Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realization of how much you already have"

Posted by a friend, possibly as a message to me, since it came up in our conversation about why I was a little bit down right now.

I am, once again, feeling the call of Iceland. It grows stronger every day.

tragnon: Intro

I'm a 3 time visitor to Iceland, and hope someday to move there. Trip 1 was a tour of the Ring, with my now Ex-wife, in the bright sun of June. We were hoping to fall back in love with each other. I fell in love with the country. Trip 2 was with my folks, a long weekend just before Christmas. The short days at their worst. Trip 3,( Photos) was early February of this year, where I met up with a couple of Boston natives who are living there. Their romantic relationship has ended, but both are active Bloggers, and I have their blogs syndicated onto LJ, Iceland Report and Reykjavik Harbor Report . Both are a good view of how it feels to be an American living in Iceland.

Hopefully, there will be more activity in this community!

does anyone who lives in iceland know how difficult it is to be a vegetarian living there?
is it reasonably possible to live there and not eat meat or fish or would you have to spend a lot of money on imported vegetables and stuff? i'm planning on visiting there for an extended period of time and i was wondering if it would cost a ton of money foodwise since i don't eat meat.

tengupriestess: Promotions, anyone?

I'd like to get some more travellers to join this community.

Gods only know I had such a great time in Iceland, and I'm still planning on returning one of these days. Maybe others might like to know:

Iceland LJ Community, my html is terrible, so I posted the link to it here.
